Waste Collection
Lethbridge and Area Local Service District is currently accepting bids for garbage collection in the communities of Morley’s Siding, Lethbridge, Brooklyn, Portland, Jamestown, Winterbrook, Charleston and Sweet Bay.
Tender submission form can be picked up at the office weekday mornings between the hours of 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Tenders must be submitted to the office at 20 Fire Hall or mailed to P.O Box 189, Lethbridge, NL A0C 1V0.
Deadline for tenders to be submitted is 12:00 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021.

Fire Protection and Waste Disposal
Fire Protection
Fire Protection is provided by the Lethbridge and Area Fire Department operated through the Fire Hall at 20 Fire Hall Road.

Waste Disposal
The LALSD operate one Waste Disposal Site located in just east of Lethbridge on Route 230. All waste collected through contracted services is transported to the Lethbridge Waste Disposal Site.
The Site is open to local residents for the purpose of bulk waste on Saturdays Only between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. |
Civic Addressing
All residences and businesses in the Local Service area has been assigned civic addressing to assist with the 911 emergency services. All main roads and some side streets have been provided with Street Signage and all residences are asked to display their civic addressing number in plain view for the purpose of emergency service providers ability to locate a home in emergency situations.

ESTABLISHMENT
LALSD
The Lethbridge and Area Local Service District was established in September 2010. The purpose in establishing the LALSD was to provide a local governing body for the purpose of assisting the Fire Department in obtaining firefighters insurance and the ability to apply for funding for a new fire truck to serve the eight communities encompassed by the LALSD. The eight communities served by the LALSD include Morley's Siding, Lethbridge, Brooklyn, Portland, Jamestown, Winterbrook, Charleston and Sweet Bay. |
